Celebrating the quintessential color of the holidays, the Guerlain Holiday 2019 Goldenland Collection introduces a handful of limited edition makeup items. Drenched inside out with the color gold, the Goldenland Eyeshadow Palette (C$106) and the Terracotta Goldenland Highlighter (C$72) are swatched and reviewed on the blog today. Guerlain | Holiday 2019 Goldenland Eyeshadow Palette (C$106 for 10 g):
Housed in a lightweight gold compact that can be repurposed as a storage tin, this is a ten-shade palette featuring five satin mattes and five sparkly shimmers. Included within the palette are two mini applicators but the packaging is much larger than necessary. All ten shades are silky and creamy while the pigmentation is great as well. A couple of the shades swatches a bit streaky but they apply smoothly and blend seamlessly on the lids. See below for a description of all ten shades.
- Satin charcoal black
- Light warm brown with very subtle golden sparkles
- Khaki green satin
- Soft taupe brown
- Matte nude taupe
- Shimmery rosy red
- Shimmery golden green
- Soft golden shimmer
- Soft peach champagne
- Icy pearly shimmer with a hint of pink
Guerlain | Holiday 2019 Terracotta Goldenland Illuminating Powder (C$72 for 10 g):
Packaged in a round gold tin studded with a geometric design, similar to that of the Goldenland Eyeshadow Palette, the Guerlain Terracotta Goldenland Illuminating Powder is a beautiful warm gold highlighter. The formulation is lightweight and creamy but I personally find the color a bit too gold, which may look a little unnatural unless you have a darker, warm complexion. With that said, this really is more of a collector’s piece that’s worth picking up for the packaging alone.
